Product Liability Claims

Under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, manufacturers, importers and retailers can be held liable for injuries caused by defective or dangerous products. This applies when a product is used for its intended purpose and causes injury due to a defect in its design, manufacture, or inadequate safety warnings.

Common types of faulty goods claims include defective electrical goods causing fires or electric shocks, unsafe children's toys, contaminated food or drink, faulty vehicles or vehicle parts, and dangerous pharmaceutical products.
